Danish Mill Springs

The carbon steel springs are the primary safety valve and dynamic balancing system within the Danish mill. The springs shown in the image are available in three graduated sizes to accommodate popular machine sizes (such as 300, 400, and 500). Mounted directly on the main shaft, the springs perform two critical functions: first, regulating the fineness or coarseness of the feed through flexible response to the external calibration lever; and second, protecting the millstones from breakage by sudden compression and recoil in the event of foreign solid or metallic objects entering with the grain, thus safeguarding the machine from damage.
